{"id":14,"date":"2008-11-24T08:35:26","date_gmt":"2008-11-24T13:35:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/optative.net\/blog\/?p=14"},"modified":"2008-12-04T22:27:15","modified_gmt":"2008-12-05T03:27:15","slug":"looking-back-the-chartwells-tour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/optative.net\/blog\/looking-back-the-chartwells-tour\/","title":{"rendered":"Looking back: The Chartwells Tour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With this year&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adbusters.org\/campaigns\/bnd\">Buy Nothing Day<\/a> only four days away, here&#8217;s a look back at The <a href=\"https:\/\/optative.net\/bnd\/07.html\">Chartwells<\/a> Tour, a theatrical jam performed by OTL and Uberculture Concordia last BND to challenge the monopolizing University food service provider controlled by <a href=\"https:\/\/optative.net\/bnd\/07info.html\">Compass Group Canada<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Chartwells not only runs all the cafeterias at Concordia and McGill Universities, as well as campuses across North America, but they use the exclusivity contracts they sign with the University administrations to bring in companies like Tim Hortons and <a href=\"http:\/\/knowmore.org\/wiki\/index.php?title=Starbucks_Corporation\">Starbucks<\/a> and restrict any food or beverage sales not under their control.
